My husband has Vitiligo since his teenage. He is a successful software professional working for a renowned MNC. He had a difficult time finding a suitable match. After I met him, I didn’t find any reason to not marry him and Vitiligo was not a reason to me. I have seen one of my cousins going through a tough time with Vitiligo and I was very thoughtful about my choice. I wanted to marry him and stood by my decision even though it was difficult initially. We got married. We have been married for 16+ years now. Vitiligo was and is never a problem for him or any of us. I have seen him going through many kind of treatments (sometimes really illogical too) finally past many years he is not into medications yet happy with his looks. Really, it’s all about acceptance of self and dear ones. People have to change their mindset and yeah it necessarily doesn’t spread (pass on to the next generation). Our kids are very much fine 🙂
