  1. Who do we (the vitiligo community) persuade the medical community to acknowledge vitiligo for what it is—an internal issue? Dermatologist are NOT the experts on vitiligo. Dermatologist treat the skin so how can they possibly help someone with internal issue that cause de-pigmentation?

My vitiligo community has began to think for ourselves because dermatologist and scientists will not listen to us. US dermatologist are extremely uneducated on vitiligo and it’s causes.

Why don’t derms test for MTHFR or other genetic mutations? Why don’t derms acknowledge that childhood vaccines stimulate or endure vitiligo? Why don’t derms acknowledge that every single person with vitiligo has leaky gut? Why don’t derms acknowledge or give information on how autoimmunity stems from the gut? Why don’t derms test for heavy metals and other environmental triggers for vitiligo? Why don’t derms acknowledge that the American Standard Diet and FDA approves foods spread vitiligo due to inflammation? Why don’t derms recommend clean, organic foods? Why don’t derms acknowledge that their patients are acidic and that they’ll never heal unless they have an alkaline environment? Why do derms recommend products and chemicals known to cause cancer? Why do derms recommend toxins for children? Why do derms prescribe creams and lights knowing that is only a temporary fix for an internal issue? And lastly, why don’t derms test for hormonal imbalances that also induce vitiligo?

The vitiligo community does not trust dermatology or dermatologist for these reasons!

    1. Hi Jenifer,

Even I am a person with vitiligo, just like you. Yes there is no permamanent cure for Vitiligo, so far. I have been healed by UVB Narrowband partially (face, arms and legs. No results on feet, elbows and hands). Even i had a hard time taking many many treatments , running behind dermatalogists, etc. I have realized one thing that vitiligo management is two sided and the two sides consists of persons with vitiligo & dermatlaogists. We need to know both the sides to manage vitiligo, if not cure. At the same time we are equally responsible for answering all the “why’s “. Thats why I am moderating this and seek guidance from dermatalogists, when required. Vitiligo management is not just medicine it has to do a lot with the gut & general lifestyle including mental health.

      1. 2. I had vitiligo on my neck and lower lips and it was stable from 2 years . No response for oral treatment.what can be done for curing it?and my beard colour changes into white hair does it can change into black?

    1. Hi Dinesh,

One of the commonly used treatments is Narrowband UVB. It may help for your neck area. Results are not guaranteed. As far as the lip area is concerned, I have not seen any improvement for myself through UVB Narrowband and even with my interaction with persons with Vitiligo. Lip area & palms are tougher to repigment.

Some people with Vitiligo have also found results with food habbits. I.e. eating food that suits our body & avoiding autoimmune triggers. Some autoimmunity triggers maybe – Gluten, Diary & citrus. Healthy food habbits & exercise may help in stabilizing vitiligo.

  3. My son is 6month and he is having vitiligo , right now its only on side of the forehead and its prestage, i am scared is there any cure or will it spread , or even after treatment the pigmentation will be back or not or even after treatment itwill spread ?? Whats the best treatment ?

    1. Hello Sara,

      Your son is too young.
Being a person with Vitiligo, I can say there is no permamnent cure so far. UVB Narrowband is a widely tried option but your son is really young for it. Take care.

  4. Does vitiligo genetic ? Because my grandfather had it and my father too. Now I have it which is spreading over the time on my legs nd neck.

    1. Hi Neha,

I am a person with Vitiligo myself. So far, there is no treatment which gives us 100% results. UVB Narrowband can help to an extent that too the result varies from person to person. Please watch this video. I have shared my experience with treatments. Most important thing is try to destress yourself. Stress may trigger new patches. This I am telling, is out of personal experiences.

    1. Hello Iqra,

The earlier comment got deleted due to an issue with the hosting server.
Lips are tougher to cure compared to other areas since its prone to movements. If we come across any stable treatment then we will let you know. As a temporary solution, you can use lipstick on your lips, if that is comfortable with you.

  8. I am taking Ayurvedic medicine. Which is the best time to take tablet after food in the morning and night.

    1. Hello Parthasarathy,

Glad you reached out to us 🙂
I have already shared what helped and how UVB helped me in the videos. What you are taking might be PUVA (UVB + Psolaraen Tablet) and see if UVB alone helps you. Coz psolaraen tablets might not be required if UVB alone helps you.

    1. Hello Shakir,

The diet patterns vary from person to person. Some of the triggers might be,
      1. Diary Items
      2. Citrus based Fruits (Orange, Lemon etc.)
      3. Tamarind
      4. Gluten (Wheat flour based items like roti, breads etc.)
      Other factor
      5. Stress

You need to find which of the above might be a trigger knowin your case and try avoiding it and see. Please do not avoid everything blindly. Check it out for yourself.

    1. Stress will increase your marks. So dont take stress.
Most important point-1-Do not rub your skin like eyes or any area with tight hands, just do it with soft cloth or gentle touch.
2- Do regular exercise, Min. for 30 minutes. Dont take this point lightly. If you want to stop the marks then this is the crucial point .
3- expose your marks to sun for 5 mins
      4- dont eat sour food.
5-eat dry fruits like black dates, akhrot etc
These point will 100% stop your marks.

  12. Hello,
I am from Nepal. I am also suffering from vitiligo since I was 16 yrs old. Then at that time I got totally cured within 1 year by Ayurvedic medicine. But again after 10 yrs when I became 26 it reappears again and it is now stable not spreading since 4 yrs. And that Ayurvedic medicine is also not working well but also I am using that same medicine because it has stopped to spread my vitiligo. Now I have decided to go further treatment. Which one is best treatment for my vitiligo?

  17. Mam i have vitiligo from the age of 5, it spread upto 13 years on feet but after that it stopped. It mostly occured on the place in which we rub our skin with our hands or anything, specially on elbow, eyes, feet, lips. But fortunately it do not spread and it is only on my feet and stopped . I think it is due to sun exposure and regular exercise. I love doing exercise daily at home for 1 hour. But what should i do to remove the rest of the marks from my feet

    1. I have Shubham, thanks for writing to us. Feet, hands, joints, lips and palms are tougher areas compared to other areas, since they are prone to movement. In some cases, diet habbits have helped, provided the progress has been slow. You can join our support network on Telegram App, there we share/discuss about daily hacks, inputs which had helped people in general.you can ping us on Telegram App to +91 9845668296.

  18. In my opinion and experience from vitiligo is that:-
1- Do not rub your skin like eyes or any area with tight hands, just do it with soft cloth or gentle touch.
2- Do regular exercise, Min. for 30 minutes. In my experience, i do not take much proper diet but i love doing exercise. From this my marks are stable from past 6 years.
2- i love playing . So by default i ecpose myself to sun
3- stop eating at least sour food, if you have mood to eat something sour then eat fruit except food which is sour like orange, amla
